MEET THE PERSON BEHIND THE LENS
THE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
My name is Africa and I am passionate wedding photographer and coffee lover based in the beautiful Garden route in Knysna. When I am not taking photographs or having coffee, you will find me at the gym training clients, yep…I make them fit, then I shoot them. I spent most of my early adult life in retail as a manager. This helped me a lot in connecting and learning to communicate with people from different walks of life, and it has made my job as photographer that much enjoyable and easy.
I find photography as a profession that requires a lot of communication and an ability to put people at ease with a sense of a calm and yet funny character to make every photo shoot an enjoyable and memorable experience. I didn’t start out as a wedding photographer, I started out as a “whatever pays my rent photographer” till I found my passion and niche in weddings. Being married for more than a decade myself, I always find the experience of shooting a wedding taking me back to the day I said my vows, and I always take away a message that speaks to me from each and every wedding I shoot.

Photography Workshops
The love and passion for photography is ok to spill over I guess, as long as that spillover is put to good use by sharing the skills and knowledge with those that are like minded and want to learn about the art of photography. I have been privileged to recently host a portraiture photography workshop in Partnership with Nikon SA recently. This is my passion project and many more workshops are sure to come. keep an eye on the this website for information and dates on future workshops.
